Need a Website for Your Small Business?

I build small business websites that load fast, show up on Google, and turn visitors into calls, bookings, and sales, without agency overhead or a template every competitor in your town is running too.

What This Means for Your Project

A site built to bring in customers, not just exist

Most small business websites are digital business cards, they sit there looking fine and do nothing to move someone from curious to contacting you. I build the opposite: the pages that actually matter for a small business are the ones that show what you do, prove you're good at it, and make getting in touch effortless, so I put the work there instead of spreading it thin across ten pages nobody reads. That usually means a clear services section, real proof like reviews or past work, and a contact or booking step that takes one click rather than hunting for a phone number. The goal is that someone landing from Google knows within seconds whether you're what they need and how to reach you.

Fast enough that people don't leave before it loads

Most of your visitors are on a phone, often on mobile data, and they'll leave a slow site before they ever see your offer. A lot of small business sites are slow for avoidable reasons, huge unoptimized photos, a pile of plugins, a bloated page builder, and every second of load time quietly costs you leads that were right there. I build sites that are light by default and stay fast on a mid-range phone, not just on a fast laptop in a demo. That speed also directly affects where you rank, since Google uses page speed as one of its signals for who shows up first.

Findable on Google without paying for ads forever

Ranking in local search isn't magic, it comes from a site that's structured so Google can actually read it: proper page titles, real headings, location and service information marked up clearly, and fast load times backing it all up. I build that in from the start rather than selling it back to you as a separate SEO package later. It won't outrank a national chain overnight, but for the searches that matter to a local business, "[your service] near me", "[your service] in [your town]", a well-built site gives you a real shot at the free traffic instead of renting every click through ads.

You own everything, no monthly ransom to edit a paragraph

The website, the domain, the content, all of it is yours, in accounts under your name. You're not locked into a proprietary page builder that holds your site hostage for a monthly fee, and you're not stuck paying someone every time you want to change your hours or add a service. If you ever want to bring in another developer, they get a clean, standard codebase they can pick up, not a tangle only the original builder understands. That matters more than it sounds like it does, because the alternative is quietly being dependent on one platform or one person indefinitely.

One person, straight answers, no account-manager telephone game

You talk to the person actually building your site, not a salesperson who relays your requests to a team you never meet. If something you're asking for is a bad idea or a waste of money, I'll tell you directly instead of billing for it, and if a cheaper option genuinely fits your situation better, I'll point you there. Small businesses get oversold constantly, expensive rebuilds that weren't needed, features that don't earn their cost, and a lot of that happens because nobody in the process had an incentive to say no. I'd rather build you the right-sized thing once.

Can't I just use Wix or Squarespace, or get a $50 gig online?

For some businesses, honestly, yes, and I'll tell you if that's your situation rather than talk you out of it. Where those options break down is speed, SEO ceilings, every site looking like the same template, and paying a monthly fee forever with limited help when something goes wrong. If your website is a real part of how customers find and choose you, a properly built site tends to pay for itself. If it's just a placeholder so you exist online, a builder might be all you need.

My Experience

Over the past 3+ years I've built marketing and business websites for clients ranging from independent professionals to small teams, in both WordPress and modern stacks like Next.js, depending on who's going to maintain the site afterward. That includes responsive, fast-loading sites clients were genuinely happy with, and performance work like cutting one client's page load time by roughly 75%. I also run my own products end to end, so I know what actually moves the needle for a small site versus what just adds cost.

Proof

No two small business sites are the same, so instead of a generic portfolio piece, here's how I think about the decisions that matter for a site like yours:

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a small business website cost?

It's scoped per project after a quick call, since the price depends on how many pages you need, whether it's a rebuild or a fresh start, and what has to happen beyond the site itself. I've written a full breakdown of what drives the number so you're not going in blind.

How long does it take to build?

A straightforward marketing site is usually days to a couple of weeks. The biggest variable is how ready your content is, text, photos, service details, since I can't finish pages I don't have the information for yet.

Do I have to write all the content myself?

No. You give me the raw facts about your business, what you do, who for, what makes you different, and I structure it into pages that read well and are built for search. Final wording is yours to approve.

Can you just fix or update my existing site instead of rebuilding it?

Often, yes. I'll audit what you have first. If the foundation is fine, updates and a speed pass are cheaper than a rebuild, and I'll say so. If it's fighting you at every turn, I'll explain why starting fresh is the better spend.

Will I be able to update the site myself afterward?

Yes. Depending on what we agree, that's either a simple content editor you log into, or a short walkthrough of how to make common changes. Either way you're not stuck coming back to me for every edit.

WordPress or a custom build?

Depends on your situation. If you or someone on your team will be updating it often, WordPress or a similar CMS makes sense. If speed and low maintenance matter more, a modern build is better. I'll recommend based on who maintains it and your budget, not a default.

What about hosting, the domain, and business email?

Your call. If you want to own everything outright, I set the accounts up in your name and hand you the logins, nothing is locked to me. If you'd rather not deal with it, I can host and manage it for you on a simple monthly arrangement, and you can still take it in-house later. What I won't do is quietly put your domain or site somewhere you can't get to it.

Do you only work with clients in certain countries?

No. I work with serious clients wherever they're based, remote, across time zones.

How We'd Work Together

Step 1

Discovery call

I ask questions until the requirement is actually clear. I don't start building against a guess. If something's ambiguous, I'll flag it rather than assume.

Step 2

Scope agreed, work begins

Once we're aligned on what's being built and why, I start. No scope creep surprises later because we didn't nail this down first.

Step 3

Frequent updates while I build

You get regular progress updates, even small ones. You shouldn't have to ask where things stand. Core, high-stakes pieces get built carefully, and lower-stakes pieces move fast so we can iterate on real feedback.

Step 4

Launch and handover

Ship it, and walk you through anything you need to run or extend it yourself.

I'm super excited to work on my newly launched website. Abdul Mateen has shown marvelous professionalism and great deal of work. The site is very responsive and aesthetically appealing which makes my requirements fulfilled.
